Update Jan 28th 2009

Hey,

Well it's been crazy two days. I haven't had much time for myself. Been spending most of my time fixing software. Trying to get my new Blackberry to work and still no luck!

I am trying out this new software that allows me to type while I'm speaking. So I am actually speaking into the microphone right now and this software is typing everything for me.

Either way,I'm still working on the business plan, and it does not seem to be coming along too well. However, I will have it done before the end of this month. Me and parth are going to see NGOs today [Thursday]. We're hoping to get sponsors for the pillow fight.

We had a pizza sale at SLC today at 10:30 PM till 2 AM. we mainly sought after the bomber crowd. The pizza sale was a grand success and we sold out overall and made hundred dollars in quick cash. That's not bad for the first pizza sale. We are hoping to do this again next week, and being a lot more organized.

So this is my quick blurb for the day. Until next time, keep reading.

Regards,

K.

Januray 26th Update

Dear Readers,

My name is Kartik Singla and I own Recently Divorced Lifestyle Fashion and Youth Initiative for Humanity. This blog is intended for internal use, but I don't anticipate a lot of participation from the world eitherway, so read away.

I was at the GCC conference, where I had the chance to meet a large group of people that are socially conscious. I connected with the president of Project Empathy who is interested in participating with us in the pillow fight. They are interested in doing fund raising for us, in exchange for some serious media attention through this event. They will be a lead sponsor in this event. Although this event falls under the umbrella of Youth Initiative for Humanity, the lead sponsors so far are Recently Divorced, Project empathy and five others. Our fund raising efforts are being aggressively pursued to cover the costs for this event. We hope to raise $10,000 by the end of February to make this pillow fight event a giant success.

At this event, I also had the opportunity to connect with the Mayor of Waterloo. I am planning on sitting on the Mayor's Students' Advisory board, for which I will hear back from her (Mayor) shortly. Upon talking to the Mayor a bit more, I will discuss with her best strategies that we can use towards the progression of our businesses.

I spoke with Candy today, and she was a bit concerned about the team morale. One of the key things we'd discussed was effective communication between all team members and effective team meetings. Setting up this blog was a part of this process. Hopefully we can constructively be more updated about each other.

This is my short update for the day, if anyone has any other points to add please feel free to address them through comments or emails.

Regards,

Kartik
